Guess What?!

Okay, so I had something really awesome planned for this week's post, but I ended up not having it done on time. I'm still waiting on a very important part to arrive and for that I'm sorry! So, let me instead share some interesting news...

I was in my local paper this week! You can see the article below (with some of the local stuff blacked out. Looking at you, Twitter weirdos who slide up unwelcome in my DMs). I felt like garbage the day that photo was taken, but I really loved how it turned out. It's already got buzz in my area, so that's a great thing. I want to thank everyone at the Herald for doing this. It really means a lot to me.

Again, I apologize for the lack of cool content. I swear it's on the way! And I'm also sorry for the short, last minute substitute. For now, please enjoy this picture of the newspaper clipping ðŸ˜Š

The Devil's Maverick will be available for preorder December 17 at the link below!

The Devil's Maverick Trailer

Well, it's time. Time to unveil the trailer!

It's by no means the most well-made thing, but I can't help being proud of it. It wasn't one hundred percent necessary to have a trailer in the first place. This was just something I worked on for fun, something to look nice and give you a feeling of my book.

For those of you don't know, I do have a YouTube channel where all of my videos will be posted. Search Lori Fayre on YouTube and you'll find me!

The Devil's Maverick will be available for preorder December 17! General release will be on January 28! Click the link below to visit the site. Until next time, lovelies...

The Devil's Maverick Blurb

Here we are again, lovelies. Another week, another post. I’m going to go ahead and confess to being lazy! Between leading a NaNoWriMo group, editing my next manuscript (along with some others), and marketing The Devil’s Maverick, there hasn’t been a lot of time to sit down and blog.

So, I asked myself, “What is the best way to post and still do at least one of those things?” And here we are! I’ve decided to share with you the blurb of The Devil’s Maverick. I know, not super exciting, but it’s something I’m super excited about! I have so much TDM content that’s being prepared for you guys and this is just the start.

There will be exclusive deleted scenes, beautiful character art by one of my good friends, and even a behind-the-scenes look at The Devil’s Maverick! There’s more, but I think I’ll let all of that be a surprise 😉

I’m really looking forward to the next couple of months leading up to release. I can’t wait to share this world and these characters with every single one of you! For now, here’s the blurb for The Devil’s Maverick:

Alva Grace Eastman is a young woman desperate to start a new life. But her plans are hindered when her ship is overrun by pirates and she is taken as a prisoner aboard The Diablo. With the notorious Captain Elijah Maverick as her captor, Alva doesn’t have much hope of escape, but that doesn’t stop her from trying. What does change her mind is when the dashing pirate captain saves her life…twice.

Now willing to give him a chance, Alva discovers that there’s more to Elijah Maverick than the reckless, carefree pirate she thinks he is. Not only is he a kind and compassionate person with an extreme distaste for the oppression of innocents, but he is also a man torn. Elijah is plagued with nightmares from his past, consumed with a quest for revenge and desperate for human comfort, which he believes he’s found with Alva. But he’s not the only one keeping secrets.

Alva’s dark past soon catches up with her, exposing her own misdeeds and need to protect the innocent. Together, Alva and Elijah face many forces that seek to tear them apart. From the Royal Navy to an obsessed plantation owner, the pair must fight for their lives, their love and their freedom.

Interested? You can preorder my book on December 17 at the link below! Until next time, lovelies!

This Magical Christmas, A Review...

I’m going to be honest with you all: I love romance! If that’s news to you, see my other posts. But I love a particular kind of romance and cozy, fluffy stuff has never been my thing. Neither has holiday-themed romance. But, when Leyna asked me to read and review an ARC of This Magical Christmas, I couldn’t say no.

She had shared parts of the story with me throughout writing this book, nothing too spoiler-y, so I was definitely interested. I thought it would be something I would read and enjoy, but it turned out to be the most amazing book I’ve read in a while!

Let me repeat myself: This Magical Christmas is an utterly captivating book!

Here’s the blurb:

When iconic magician and brilliant engineer, Blaire Witch, is advised to partner with an arrogant colleague, she decides to do one last magic trick; retire into a puff of smoke. With no one outside of family knowing her secret identity, Blaire is confident that her final disappearing act will leave her free to explore her options. Eager to reclaim her lost passion, she decides to pay a visit back to where it began; her hometown. But when she finds out her family's bakery is going under, her new life gets put on hold.

In a spontaneous effort to protect the store, Blaire enters a local ballroom dance competition with a prize that just might save the day; if only it didn't involve partnering up with the brooding stranger who despised her alter ego. Couple that with lost luggage, painful shoes and a handsome, charming competitor and who could blame her for being less than graceful on the dance floor?

But when her pride starts jeopardizing the competition, she must decide whether to keep hiding in the shadows or to reveal her secrets and use her skills to win. With more than just a prize on the line, will this solo act learn how to depend on others, or will she stay center stage and risk it all?

And here’s my review:

The story is a thing of beauty, weaving magic, dance, and conflict into a story unlike any other. It pulls you in and you fall in love with the characters. You laugh, cry, celebrate, and fall with them, following on the roller coaster of competition and discovering who you are.

Even with my advance knowledge of the story, I was never really sure what was going to happen next. I had moments where I was worried or excited for the characters and had such a hard time breaking away from the page.

My favorite character is Mena, who you think you know at the beginning, but just wait: she’s full of surprises! The romance… Oh, the romance. This book delivers, my friends, in the most heart-warming and heart-racing way. And the dancing! And the magic! There’s just so much to love in this book that I don’t think I could put it all here.

Here’s the point: You should read this book! If you love a cozy love story with dancing and gingerbread competitions, this is for you. And, Leyna even has a second stand-alone Christmas story coming out November 20 (which I will be reviewing soon!)

This Magical Christmas by Leyna Paige is available for pre-order at the link below and will be released on November 6.
